I felt like sitting here and writing a wish list, but then thought, "Just how productive would that be today?" I thought I'd take a look and see what the scripture says about contentment...I normally use King James Version, but this version used the word I was looking for.
James 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
(I thought it was interesting that this scriputre was just a few verses before talking about contentment)
4:11...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

ReplyDelete:) I can only repeat my comment from before... That's really good. I finished reading Jesus Freaks a few weeks ago and it was really awesome. This Scripture was in it, along with many others. What struck me was that most of the people they were talking about were not from the dark ages, but were from the past hundred or so years, and not even that, but that they were so content in Christ. That absolutely nothing else mattered and just to see Christ and be full of Him was their joy. It was so encouraging and thought provoking. Have you read it?
