Thanksgiving!

It took me a few minutes to understand the significance of these particular chocolates.
Last year I arrived in Belgium 2 days before Thanksgiving (That means I have been here 1 year now!). We had celebrated with my family and friends before I left, so I felt ok about missing it. Since I missed other holidays, I decided I HAD to do something for this one or I would get really sad.I told my SIL that the holiday was coming up and she volunteered to help with whatever I wanted to do. I am feeling slightly overwhelmed with my schedule, so I said I would just have to see. I was able to go out to look for the 'key' ingredients on Tuesday. When I found the cranberry sauce and cream of mushroom soup, I decided we were having a PARTY! I kept it simple, but it turned out very nice! Now the tradition is introduced here. I even found where I can get a WHOLE turkey, so maybe next year?
I know this is a horrible picture, but it's the best of us-ssaadd.
We had green bean casserole, potatos (with a recipe from our class), yummy salad, turkey breast, cranberry sauce and creme brulee (sp?)

It's nice to keep things that are dear to you, alive! :)

Terrill's family now looks at Canadian Thanksgiving as another reason to celebrate and eat Turkey dinner! ;P
