Poland

We went for a long weekend to Krakow with our Canadian visitor, brother-in-law, the hubby's brother and his pregnant wife and a friend from church. We had a 'guide' from Holland. We had a really nice time together. I think we had the perfect group dynamics (not too many girls-hahaha).

We explored the city some, visited the local salt mines, toured Auschwitz 1 & 2 and had lots of delicious food. The common verdict was that we would return just for the food! I think most people have seen pictures on Facebook. If you have not and would like the link, let me know.

Auschwitz was, as expected, impressive. We did not talk much during the day, but we definately left with strange feelings. How can you not after being IN the gas chambers or seeing where people had to survive? Unbelivable. It is very hard to comprehend everything, but I am glad for what I know of the Bible and Message to explain the purpose of why the Holocost happened.

  1. I'm glad you were able to enjoy your trip to Poland! The food pics you posted looked delicious. I have no idea what Polish cuisine is like, but it looks pretty yummy!

Visiting concentration camps isn't exactly fun, but it is an experience you can't forget and it will strike you in some way or another. I can't forget standing in the room with the ovens at one in Austria...it gives me chills just thinking about it. :(

But you're right. It's all a part of God's greater plan!
