Venice!

Venice was AMAZING! I really didn't know what to expect...I had heard lots about it, but never really researched it. We just stuck "Venice" in the GPS and ended up there at one of the 3 main parkings, where you pay 27 EURO/day! No hourly rate! What a shock that was, but it was just the beginning. Later we learned that everyone knows you don't park IN Venice, but across the bridge...*sigh* next time! I found this place to be the most unique city I have ever visited. After a while, everything starts looking alike, but not here! I started out the day by wanted to count how many bridges we crossed...I can't even estimate. The wonderful thing about this city is that it is not accessible by car! You have to get around by foot or boat. I guess bike is also an option, but what a pain it would be to try to get your bike over all the bridges. I felt bad for the people I saw with strollers.

We had only planned to stay a few hours, but we ended up staying most of the day to get our money's worth from the parking. We saw a toilet in the parking that cost 1 euro/use. Mom and I said, "Forget it! We'll go later..." (normal price is 20-60 cents) When we found a toilet a few hours later, it cost 1.5 euros! WITH NO SINK INCLUDED!!!!
We went to the Ferari store and got something for my brother and I almost bought a knock-off Prada purse...I was proud of my bargaining skills...I got it down to 15 euro from 85! I actually regret I didn't get it, but I got scared, because mom and the hubby were leaving me and I didn't want to open my wallet...*another sigh* It was a beautiful big, black/white purse...I think I gotta go back to get it!

  1. Lucky you!!! Venice is one of my top "must see cities before I die". :)

And.... that's why you should always carry hand-sanitizer in your purse! ;) But really? Who makes a bathroom without a sink?? That's just nasty, and worse then having to use an out-house!

  4. Good thing you *didn't* buy that purse, though. If the police caught you with it you would have been fined 1000 Euros :(

I'm glad I have a strong bladder...I always used the hotel toilet because I hate using public ones anyway lol.

It's really almost like another planet there! So cool.
