In answer to Melissa's question, yes I will still be blogging on here, but I'll try to keep baby stuff somewhat separate for those who aren't interested in reading it.
I had a cough since the beginning of December and it continued throughout my vacation, but never really bothered me. I felt horrible when we arrived back here and kept hoping that a normal night of sleep would fix everything. My normal night of sleep didn't come until last night, so on Tuesday I ended up on the couch most of the day without any energy. People might say it was from the pregnancy, but I knew I was sick.
Somehow I felt ok Wednesday and managed to work 2 jobs, but again ended up in the couch. I hoped sleep would fix it, but I woke up yesterday at 4:00 unable to sleep, so at that point I emailed my job that I wouldn't come in. Thankfully there is a doctor just 2 doors down from us and he had 'open hours' from 9-11, so I just walked there and had a check-up.
His diagnosis (in Dutch) is that I have a lung infection. Because of the baby, he wouldn't do a scan or give a full dose of antibiotics. He wrote me off of work until next Friday and prescribed lots of rest and as much sleep as I can get. I figured 'lung infection=something like ear infection'-not major. However, I kept getting reactions from people, so I looked it up online and it appears that I actually have pneumonia. I expected you'd feel a lot worse, but I have some of the symptons and especially no energy, so I've spent most of the last 2 days on the couch.
I am VERY thankful that I slept normal last night. I feel like I'm on the road to recovery.
Glad you are feeling better! When I had the flu I read that it's much more of a risk for pregnant women to catch pnenomia (sp?) because our immune systems are weaker. Rest and keep warm!
