Kitchen Organization

Since discovering Pinterest, I have become more aware of ORGANIZATION. I am normally an organized person, so I guess I just love getting more ideas. I now follow some blogs that specialize on this topic. The hubby says that only a person with too much time on their hands reads such things, but I find them helpful!

Some ideas are for 'someday' and some I can implement now. My budget is pretty limited, because I don't want to invest a lot in a rental. If I think it is something I can 'for sure use in the future,' then I will consider it.

I find a lot has to do with finding a system and sticking with it. I started reading more about this topic in February, so I did a big organize. Since then I have been collecting 'organization items' (aka-plastic buckets, boxes, jars). Now when I did my kitchen, I was able to use a lot of those things I've saved.

I am posting because I am so proud of my work :D NOW, it needs to stay this way...
Pantry-all canned/jarred food together. Sorted by 'sweet' or not.  Bins for granola bars/hot chocolate packets/cookies

2 major things learned: Labeling & for those hard-to-get-to spaces, use a drawer (or box)

Put things that are similar together. I had medicine in a few places, so now all in 1 box. Spices are also in boxes for easy overview.

Purge! Look, 4 bags, plus a box of bottles, plus some other things to get rid of.

I know the sticky notes look kind of messy, but I figure I want to see first if this 'system' works. Sticky notes are easy to remake! I decided I would love a label maker...

What I really like is my 'decoration cabinet'-I put all the candles in a CLEAR bin and sorted the decorations per holiday and put them in either a clear bag or bucket, so I don't have to dig to find something. Included in that cabinet are all the table clothes and place mats.

  1. Good for you! I love having everything organized but it stresses me out too, having to sort through stuff.

  2. I know what you about not wanting to invest in a rental, I have the same problem, and most of the time in up saying I can live with it since it won't be forever.
