I am guessing it is nearly the same in any country. Government agencies! Apologies to anyone who works for one, but sometimes it just drives me crazy the power people how over my life! My previous post was over the people I was frustrated with. I do not know if I got a reply from any of them, but finally we are making (slow) progress on things.
My Diploma
I think it has been a year and a half since I sent my college diploma away to get it evaluated. Some group is supposed to say what it is worth here. I had a really great integration officer who helped me with the paperwork to send it in. In the meantime she found another job and I had a fellow who emailed me that the paperwork was sent back and that I needed additional paperwork. I was very frustrated, because I told him the one paper doesn't exist in America and he was of no help. I let the situation sit until I received an email from my newest integration officer. My file was closed, but I was able to open it when I wanted.
If I ever want a job more than on a cleaning level, I need a diploma, so I decided to start working on it again. I contacted my old school (they still haven't replied!) and my officer. She said that I should come in so we could look at everything together. *good news* she was very nice and it seems that there is a hope that I might end up with something being recognized here. We decided the minister of education just was lazy and did not read everything and decided it was confusing and sent it back. I am going to write a special explanation of the system in America and my adviser will write something and we will ask for that one requirement to be waived, since it doesn't exist at my former college.
If anyone happens to think of this, could you say a prayer please? A prayer that we have the right words to form our thoughts in a way that this decision-making person can understand.
