For My Own Record

Hey! I pushed "create blog post" and it is a totally different layout!

I have been into making milkshakes lately. Not with ice cream, but yogurt. It is a great way to get fruit, yogurt and especially milk (because I hate drinking milk) in my diet. I always use plain yogurt and fake sugar, so normally everything in the shake is 'allowed.' Sometimes as a treat I'll put cocoa powder in.

What I also discovered is yummy is to put in some sugar free Sprite. It adds some fizzzzz to my treat. I read somewhere to just put in whole kiwis, instead of pealing them. I tried it and did NOT like the result. The skin did not blend as fine as I would have liked. Maybe it's my blender's fault?

The one I am drinking right now and REALLY am enjoying is as follows.

1 banana
2 scooped out kiwis
milk
2.5 splenda packets
dash of SF sprite
Aldi plain (volle) yoghurt

Anyone out there a 'green' shake fan? I haven't been brave enough to try that yet.

  1. Mmm, sounds yummy. Never thought to add sprite so perhaps that will be on the next shake menu :) I've tried a "green" shake w/the green powder and couldn't finish it... bleh. but maybe its an aquired taste?

  2. I haven't had a green shake, but used to make after-workout shakes with milk, frozen banana, frozen berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, or combo) and enough ice cubes to make it as thick as the blender could blend. Now, I have a blender that has seven buttons, but only two speeds: Fast and super-fast. I did not like cleaning shake off of the counter, floor, cupboards, etc., so won't enjoy shakes until I can find a UK blender that works. :( Once I do, I'd like to try your recipe. It sounds tasty.
