Yellow Skirt

As you can see I LOVE my yellow skirt. Normally this is not one of my favorite colors, but I saw a skirt at a store and thought 'hmmm, maybe it is better in a skirt than a shirt.' I then found this photo of inspiration on Pinterest and then decided I was going to have to make my own. It happened that there was a fabric fair a few days after I found this photo. I had the exact color in my head. When I saw it, I knew it was THE one.

I was so excited to begin that I started as soon as I got home and put little man in bed. My sewing box was actually still in his room, so I used a ruler and my normal scissors and did not pin when I began sewing. I made it like another maternity skirt that I have. It does not look very pretty inside
, but it works perfectly and is so comfortable! I also lined it with a stretchy lining. It hangs nicely and is a bit warmer. I did not have a pattern, so I cut around another skirt and the rest made up. I was happy with the result. As they say here, 'It would not win a beauty prize,' but I am thrilled with it and all the combos I can make with it. I plan to wear it also after the baby is born. Last week I saw a yellow dress paired with a gray cardigan. MORE inspiration!
