Some holidays are ok to celebrate here (did I just say that?) and even Thanksgiving you can make believe that you are home, but the 4th? Not quite. No red, white and blue filling the stores, no BBQs, no fireworks...
BUT, I do love wearing the color combo, so every year I try to dress up and take a photo or something. This year was no exception! I had fun dressing the kids to attempt a photoshoot. Out of 100 photos, there are a few keepers. The best start to the holiday was skyping with my patriotic friend. She reminded me she had sent some window stickers, so I quickly dug them and my other decorations out and had it set up by the time Mateo woke up. He enjoyed it.
I had a festive feeling all day and though to make a red cake to use up my left over blue icing. Things were getting stressful around here and I was tired of mixing in dye, so it ended up a pink lemon coconut cake.We visited a friend in the afternoon for her birthday and in the evening had visitors for the soccer game, all in all, it was a nice day.

2011 I went shopping in Brugge (while highly pregnant)
2012 My parents were here, I worked and Eva was born
