Last Day

I decided to work backwards in regards to posting about our wonderful vacation. We arrived home on the Belgian national holiday (the 21st). The 20th we left Verona, Italy and stopped in Lugano, Switzerland for the afternoon. It is in the Italian-speaking part of the country. We had heard that it has a special climate, is warm and even has palm trees. All that was true :) It was gorgeous and refreshingly clean (after being in Italy for 3 days)! We ate Burger King for lunch, bought a Swiss Army knife and rented the paddle boat for an hour and finally got to cool off in the middle of the lake.
After another 3 hours of driving, we were in Biel, where some very hospitible friends live. We visited in the evening and enjoyed a yummy breakfast (I think it was mom's only 'European' breakfast that she ate...) and drove 8 hours the next day. We were happy to be out of the car!
