A few posts ago I was trying to decide if I should get into sewing...I remembered I have my scissors, measuring tape and 3 spools of thread, so that is a start! My super-talented-sewer-SIL picked up some really nice fabric for me to start a skirt. I had a different pattern in mind, but the other SIL was using it, so I decided to try the one that was used for a
skirt for my wedding.

I started with no problems! It is going to be a bubble skirt, so there has to be a full lining...that is all ready and needs to be put together with this piece, zipper in, bubble made and it will be done. *Now I have to wait for summer to wear it*
omigoodness I have been itching to make a bubble skirt for the longest time I'm so jealous you're almost done with yours!!! :P I can never find one long enough around here but I did find a Burda pattern for one. I also figure it's not hard to make your own pattern, since it's just a larger skirt over a smaller one with the hems sewn together. Anyway, now I just have to find a fabric store lol.
ReplyDeleteIs it going to be that black and white material I see in the background?
very cute!!! Can't wait to see it done and being worn! You are very talented, my dear!
ReplyDeleteThat looks cute! I can't wait to see what it looks like. Who was it with the skirt? The one that sang?
