Hair Dare 25/26

The 25th I did do something original, but due to my neck issues I had to take it down after an hour, take IB profen and lay on the couch.

Sunday I was happy that I put a little extra effort in! I did a knot at the base of my neck, made another one, clipped the ends up and put 3 or 4 hotsticks in. I finished the style in the car. Here it is right before bed. Hubby took the photo for me and was only interested in taking 1.

I love this look! The only problem is that side do's aren't so good for my neck *sigh*

This is a diagonal french braid...

This was something new for me! And I was happy with the results. I did a little pouf, then a low ponytail and did the topsy-turny thing and kept wrapping my hair around. It kind of looks like a style I did last week, but stayed much better!

I was certainly low on ideas on this LAST day of the month! I finally thought that I should do something with my hair down. Something not too complicated, because I had to go later to my appointment. Last time my hair looked awful. Laying on the table, then the woman pushing on my head, pulling my neck...btw, the appointment really helped! My shoulder was instantly better. I went again yesterday and the man fixed some things and said he can understand why I am having headaches, something very high in my neck was messed up. I go again tomorrow. So I did a ponytail, but twisted it in a knot at the base, and pinned it. It makes it a little more interesting and the bit shorter ;)

Hair Dare 24

I have seen several 'french' rope braids. I really like them. Today was my first attempt. I think I sort of got it, but did it backwards. I actually would've preferred to just leave my hair down, but with the little guy, it's not so handy. I then tried a french twist and fake curls on top. Well, I didn't secure it good enough, so by the time I took the photo, it has really slid down.

I would've liked this better if I worked on it a little bit longer, but (excuses, excuses) my hand/wrist/arm/shoulder were hurting. I actually have something wrong with them and have appointments on Monday to figure them out. One is to get x-rays and an ultrasound on my hand and wrist (my middle finger always feels asleep and the other fingers often fall asleep). The other is like physical therapy for my shoulders and neck. I hope this will help the headaches!

Hair Dare 23

Still using that same braid :P Today I did an 'artsy' side bun, way on the top of my head (well, it seems like it to me). My neck is really hurting, so I wanted to be able to lay down without having hair in the way.

Off topic, someone suggested using picnik.com for some photo editing. I started using it, but hadn't paid for the premium. They announced they are closing. so the premium stuff is now free until April something. Well! I just discovered a few great things. Did you notice how tan I became over night? And all the pimples went away? Yup, the cheapest, safest way. Thank you Picnik. (I need to quickly add tans to all my photos while I can hahaha)

Hair Dare18-22

It's getting time to rely on some old inspiration...
Saturday: But it was a BIG donut, because I had the 3 braids the day before.
Sunday: A smaller version of this, without the special pouf.
Monday-here is where I got creative. I decided to do some super teasing. I LOVE it. It is day 3 and I still have body and the braid. I gelled the braid after I did it and it is perfect. I pulled the teased part in a clip, did a pony tail (how I do almost every hairstyle...), then I did a rope 'braid' and put that up.
Tuesday: Mostly the same as Monday, since I had wonderful body, but instead of the rope did my 'chain' on my ponytail.

Today: The body has moved down, so I love the shape of my hair today, a lower, back pouf going on with this. Fast forward to the end to see the 'fan.'

Hair Dare 17

My version of this. Since I had some body up top from my french braid, pulled my hair all back into a clip. NO PART. I could only pull that off for a little while. No part and no headband. I braided the section in the clip and did 2 side braids. So I had 3 (very long) braids to work with instead of 5. I just twisted them around and weaved them through each other. I'm excited for waves tomorrow!Link

Hair Dare 1, 9, 11, 15, 16

I actually can't really believe I'm putting this horrible photo up of me, but it is probably the only one I'll get of me today. I am in bed for the 3rd day. So this is my 'sick' hair. A french braid. Sounds simple? Not if yesterday's hair was 'loose hair day. I had to brush quite a long time today to be able to do this.
To make myself feel 'caught up' (and give me something to do, because laying in bed can be boring), I'll list the hair styles I did that I did not post.

1. Messy Bun
9. Braided the front, pulled into pony tail, wrapped the braid around the elastic, did an uneven side braid.
11. Zig-zag part, 2 french braid, together at neck, wrapped around. I love this style, so I'll do it again with a photo.
15. Loose
16. Today

After this I will catch up on my Bible reading. My other goal for the month (since I decided to drop the sit-ups one) was to organize one thing a day. I did very well on this until I got sick, but I figured I did so much before, that it still counts. I did my kitchen cabinets, the pantry, my and hubby's closets, the living room table drawers, Mateo's clothes (!), and more...

Hair Dare 13

Here

Since I had to be out of bed to watch my son, I figured I might as well try something new. Pinterest inspired. You can see on my computer the do and my version. I think without the highlights, there is no way it will look so nice, but I'd like to put a little more effort in this and wear it out sometime.

Hair Day 10 & 12

So I actually have done something different, but did not get around to taking photos. Too busy. I am already happy that I am keeping up with 3 of my goals for February. Hair Dare. Caught up on Bible reading. Organizing 1 thing per day.

This hair style I did on Saturday and today with minor changes. First it is a side part, then everything in a pony. As a young teen I tried so hard to make the 'loop' that all my friends had. But with such long hair I had to work at it. SO what I figured out is that I do not pull all my hair through, so I have a loop that is past my shoulders, then I loop it again with a separate elastic. Today I took the ends that were hanging and wrapped them around the ponytail. I have to arrange all the hair under the loop and pin it down, to get that look that everyone else can simply do. I added the newest headband from my collection. (A lost, but never found by owner, item)

Hair Dare 8

Again this photo was taken after I slept, so it's pretty messy. This is my version of a sock bun, sans sock. If you have enough hair, you can use your hair instead of the sock.LinkFrom the photo you can see that I did a little 'topsy turny with the front section, then everything went in a ponytail. I did my hair like I was doing a normal bun, but pulled the ends through after a few rounds. I spread that hair evenly out and pulled a rubber band over it to create that smooth, even, donut look. I wrapped all the ends around. (That is what got messed up during my sleep)

Hair Dare 7

No mirror, no fuss. Kind of old fashioned? Probably.

I pulled some of the front back with bobby pins and then did a braided bun. Not super creative, but NOT something I have done this month. I am enjoying this challenge. The part that takes me the longest is normally figuring what to do. Once I decided everything takes about the same time. I try to think the night before what I can do, so I'm not standng aimlessly in front of the mirror. Today I was babysitting and had no mirror, so I just did what was easy.

Hair Dare 6

Just one photo today, because I didn't like the face shot. I did a side part, a lot of teasing, pulled some in a clip to keep that nice shape, then made a ponytail and twisted it until it curled up and arranged it. My 'brain' do.

Hair Dare 4

I DID do a style for day 3, but did not get any photos. I figured I couldn't go 2 days with no photos (otherwise I'd feel like a failure), so I had to take photos of day 4 after I slept...yikes! I did an inside-out, wrap-around French braid. It was the first time I tried this. I think it is probably a better little girl style, but it was easy and comfortable.

Hair Dare 5

I took advantage of the wave in my hair from yesterday's braid. I clipped a little piece of hair up front for some bling, then bobby pinned strands back, making sure to leave some pouf in. I did a ponytail, made a knot, clipped the ends up, pulled them over and clipped them down. (If I don't have any wave, I tease my hair before I clip them down) With ends I rolled them up into one large 'curl' and fastened it.

Hair Dare 2

What do you do on a really cold day (I haven't been outside yet, but was told it would be -10C), your hair needs washed, but you know it will take HOURS to dry?

A hat! Not only does it cover up the unattractive hair, but it provides a little warmth.
A hat actually takes some work on my part due to the length of my hair. I pulled it back in a very low pony, braided it till there was about a foot of hair let (yes, a foot!), pinned the braid flat against my head, put a little gel and water on those ends, scrunched them up and pinned them over the braid.

Hair Dare 1

I gotta figure how to get good photos of my own hair. So today was a NO part style. I slightly teased it, then put it in a clip and added the headband. Put everything in a ponytail and then did a 2 loop chain and clipped the ends up and divided them in 4 to make fake curls up top.
