Master Schedule

I have been sticking to my 3 morning and evening routine points quite well. They really make a difference! So far my first week and a half of working has gone rather smoothly. I think I am actually more on top of things than before. THAT is a good feeling! I heard/read that sometimes working helps you be more organized, because you know you have to schedule your time/days better than just waking up and seeing what the day gives you.
I LOVE this comic. It is ME. I often wish someone would write me a master, DETAILED schedule. Wake up, eat this, wear this, do this to your hair, put this on baby boy, read this portion of the Bible, do these exercises, eat this, go here, buy this, go home, wash this, organize this drawer, throw that paper away, buy this product. Get the idea? It always seems that when I am focused and doing good on one area, another is suffering. For example: right now I am doing good on keeping the house cleaned, but I don't remember the last time I exercised... If I want to try out some of the yummy recipes I see and am motivated to improve my cooking skills, normally the healthy eating portion suffers. AND sleep is a huge thing! I tell myself, 'Get up at the same time every day. Even if you don't have something to do. It is good for you. Routine. Schedule. Your body needs to get up and go to sleep the same time EVERY day.' Until I go to bed too late or Mateo is up twice that night, then I tell myself 'Take advantage of this opportunity to sleep. Your body needs the rest.' I guess a key word I should find (or have found and that is why I am confused) is BALANCE. I decided last week I don't want to be a perfectionist. There's gotta to be something sort of like it that means 'Does the job acceptably/nicely/properly.' "Perfect" is too hard, too boring. I'd rather use some of that time for something else interesting. Oh, and another problem I have with the strict routine idea is that sometimes I just don't feel like doing something, where as the next day it is suddenly interesting, so as long as it gets done in say the week, why does it matter when it happens? Wow, this was a rambling post. Off I go to iron. Tuesdays. Ironing day (until I decide I would like to do it Thursday evenings or Sunday mornings).

  1. You are too funny and write words that ring all too true for me, too. And I love that cartoon! :) It is a challenge. I read recently about having two lists: a master list with every possible task/chore/etc. needed to get done, including weekly or monthly tasks (so it's on paper so you can forget about it), and a daily list composed of a few tasks selected off the master list (so as to not be overwhelmed). I'm trying it now with some success and a great feeling to be able to cross completed tasks off twice!
